Javazons and Assassins (those who don't dual wield) often use Rhyme, as do Hammerdins. Necromancers, Elemental Druids, and Sorceresses will love Rhyme for all its great properties, but the aren't the only ones. This next section will discuss what classes and specs can make the most out of Rhyme, whether you should consider using Rhyme with your Mercenary follower, what base items to consider, and where to acquire Runes.īest Classes and Specs for the Rhyme Runeword Runewords vary on their suitability for different classes and specs, as well as utility for the various Mercenaries. Some may switch to Splendor around level 37 for the +1 to all skills, but they lose the resistances and Cannot Be Frozen for the trade. Many players use this until they can find the elusive 4-socket Monarch in Hell for their Spirit shield.

It's not the most defensive shield beyond a higher block rate/chance, but the other properties are good enough that this can be overlooked for all but the most melee-forward build. Other than the Raven Frost ring (level 45), it is one of the most popular Cannot Be Frozen items, because that's not all it has to offer.Īlthough on the surface this may seem like a pure caster shield, it's useful to any class that needs some extra mana regen, resistances, and the all-important Cannot Be Frozen property. You can get this property on other items earlier, such as using the Arctic Gear Set (level 2) or wearing the Death's Guard sash (level 6), but these are not things you will wear much beyond the earliest levels. Rhyme is one of the easiest and earliest ways to get Cannot Be Frozen on an item with very good properties otherwise. Make this early for its many great properties, including the uncommon Cannot Be Frozen property. Don't let the low level fool you: Rhyme has great longevity, lasting well into early Hell and sometimes beyond.
